About the Authors

Conne C. Hughes and Terri C. Walker, nieces of Tommy J. Holtzclaw, found and compiled his letters and photographs in an effort to honor his life and share his story with others.

Connie is a scheduling coordinator at the Women's Diagnostic Center at Newton Medical Center. She is married to Richard "Dale" Hughes. They live in Covington, Georgia with her children Dusty and Tabitha, and Dale's children, Amanda and Richard. Between the two of them, they have three grandchildren.

Terri is the president of Terri C. Walker Consulting, Inc., a market research publisher based in Las Vegas with a satellite office in Roswell, GA. She has directed market research in a variety of industries, including artificial intelligence, virtual reality, expert systems, electronic imaging/image processing, leisure and entertainment, healthcare and the environment. Terri has been consulting, writing and publishing books for the market research industry for over twenty years. She resides in both Las Vegas and Atlanta, GA.

Editor

Gina Webb is a writer and editor who has worked with a variety of publishers in Atlanta, including Turner Publishing, Longstreet Press and Lionheart Books. From 1995-1997, she was the music editor at Creative Loafing, Atlanta's alternative newspaper. Her work has appeared in such publications as the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Creative Loafing, the Chattahoochee Review and Southern Voice. Following Hurricane Katrina's devastation of New Orleans, she wrote and co-edited the CNN-produced Katrina, State of Emergency. Originally from New Jersey, she has lived in Atlanta since 1978.
